Connecteam pricing 2026: plans, true costs, and the hub model explained

Connecteam’s paid plans start at $29 per month for up to 30 users — but that’s the price for just one of three separately sold hubs. For most teams that want the full product — scheduling, time tracking, communications, and HR in a single app — the true monthly cost is higher, and the structure is unlike most workforce management tools on the market.

This guide breaks down every Connecteam pricing tier, explains the hub model in plain terms, and shows what teams of 10, 30, and 50 users actually pay across different configurations. It also compares Connecteam directly to actiTIME so you can make an informed, numbers-based decision. If you are looking for the full features overview, check this Connecteam review guide.

Connecteam Pricing at a Glance

Connecteam uses a per-hub subscription model. Each of three hubs — Operations, Communications, and HR & Skills — is priced independently. All hubs share the same plan tier names and base prices, but have different per-user rates above 30 users.

Plan Annual (base / 30 users) Monthly (base / 30 users) Per user above 30 — annual
Small Business Free forever Free forever Up to 10 users only
Basic $29/month $35/month $0.80 (Ops) · $0.50 (Comms/HR)
Advanced $49/month $59/month $2.50 (Ops) · $1.50 (Comms/HR)
Expert $99/month $119/month $4.20 (Ops) · $3.00 (Comms/HR)
Enterprise Custom Custom Custom

Annual billing saves 18% compared to monthly (approximately 2 months free). All base prices cover the first 30 users. Additional users above 30 are charged at per-user rates that vary by hub.

The Hub Pricing Model: What It Means in Practice

Connecteam’s product is organized into three functional hubs, each sold as a separate subscription:

  • Operations Hub: time clock, scheduling, forms, quick tasks
  • Communications Hub: team chat, company feed, knowledge base, surveys, events, help desk
  • HR & Skills Hub: time off, courses and training, documents, recognition, hiring, onboarding

Each hub subscription includes Limited-tier access to the other two at no extra cost. But Limited access is heavily restricted — one time clock, one schedule, minimal storage, no payroll integrations. Teams that need more than a basic trial of a second hub need to subscribe to it separately.

This matters most in one specific and common scenario: time off management. Many teams expect leave tracking to come bundled with a time clock. In Connecteam, it does not. Time off lives in the HR & Skills Hub. A team subscribing only to the Operations Hub (for time tracking and scheduling) needs to add the HR Hub to get full time-off policy management and balance tracking.

The clearest way to think about the hub model: if you need just one hub, Connecteam is competitively priced. If you need all three for a full operational setup, you multiply the base fee by three — $29 becomes $87, $49 becomes $147, $99 becomes $297 per month for the first 30 users.

Small Business Plan — Free for Up to 10 Users

The Small Business plan is free forever for teams of 10 or fewer. It is not a limited-feature teaser — it includes all three hubs with nearly all features. For the market Connecteam targets (small field-based businesses, cleaning companies, dog walkers, small hospitality teams), this is one of the most generous free plans in the category.

What’s included

  • Time clock with geofencing and kiosk mode (single clock per account)
  • Single schedule with drag-and-drop editing
  • Forms and checklists with photo attachments
  • Quick tasks with subtasks
  • Unlimited 1:1 and group chat
  • Company feed, announcements, read confirmations
  • Knowledge base (500MB storage)
  • 9 time-off policies with balance tracking
  • AI course creator, courses, and quizzes
  • Recognition badges, celebrations, events, surveys
  • 2 onboarding packs, up to 10 e-sign documents

What’s excluded

  • Payroll integrations (ADP, Gusto, QuickBooks, Xero) — require Basic or higher
  • GPS breadcrumbs — Expert only
  • AI auto scheduling — Expert only
  • API access and Zapier — Expert and Advanced respectively
  • Multiple time clocks and schedules beyond the single included
  • SSO, 2FA, biometric lock — Enterprise only

Works for

  • Any frontline business with 10 or fewer people that is currently running on WhatsApp, paper timesheets, and spreadsheets
  • Sole traders and micro-teams that need scheduling + time clock + basic comms without any subscription cost

Watch out for

  • The step up to paid starts the moment your team reaches user 11. Because the hub model applies from that point, the cost increase is significant relative to the $0 free tier
  • Payroll integrations are not available on this plan — export to Excel or PDF and import manually

Basic — $29/month for 30 Users (Annual) · $35/month (Monthly)

The Basic plan unlocks payroll integrations, the most important gap from the free plan. It is the entry point for teams that need time data to flow automatically into ADP, Gusto, QuickBooks, Xero, Paychex, or PrismHR.

What Basic adds over Small Business

  • Payroll integrations — the most meaningful upgrade from free
  • Up to 3 time clocks (Operations Hub) and up to 6 schedules
  • 1GB knowledge base storage (up from 500MB)
  • Up to 3 geo-fence sites (Operations Hub)
  • 2 onboarding packs (same as Small Business but now for teams of any size)

Works for

  • Teams of 11–30 that have outgrown the free plan and need payroll integration
  • Single-location businesses running one schedule and one time clock

Watch out for

  • Geo-fencing is limited to 3 sites — insufficient for multi-location operations without upgrading
  • No Zapier integration at this tier — workflow automation requires Advanced
  • No API access — data export is limited to manual downloads
  • No GPS breadcrumbs — you can see clock-in location but not continuous location tracking

Advanced — $49/month for 30 Users (Annual) · $59/month (Monthly)

Advanced is the practical plan for multi-location operations. It lifts the geo-fence limit to 10 sites, increases schedules to 6 (Operations Hub), and adds Zapier — giving teams a route to custom automation without API development.

What Advanced adds over Basic

  • Up to 10 geo-fence sites (Operations Hub) — suitable for most multi-site businesses
  • Up to 6 schedules (Operations Hub) — manage multiple crews or locations in parallel
  • Up to 3 time clocks
  • Shift attachments — add notes, documents, and images to individual shifts
  • Zapier integration — connect Connecteam to external tools without API development
  • 5GB knowledge base storage (Communications Hub)
  • Up to 3 help desks (Communications Hub)
  • Up to 2 e-sign documents (HR Hub)
  • Up to 6 onboarding packs (HR Hub)
  • 9 time-off policies with balance (HR Hub)

Works for

  • Construction, cleaning, and field service businesses managing multiple sites or crews
  • Retail chains with several locations, each needing its own schedule and time clock

Watch out for

  • GPS breadcrumbs still not available at this tier — continuous location tracking during shifts requires Expert
  • AI auto scheduling is not included — schedule building remains manual
  • 10 geo-fence sites is enough for most SMBs but not for enterprise multi-location operations

Expert — $99/month for 30 Users (Annual) · $119/month (Monthly)

Expert is the tier where Connecteam’s most operationally significant features unlock: GPS breadcrumbs, AI auto scheduling, API access, and automated reports. For businesses that need continuous location verification or want to stop building schedules manually, Expert is the required tier.

What Expert adds over Advanced

  • GPS breadcrumbs: location tracked throughout the shift, not just at clock-in — for route verification, time-on-site confirmation, and dispute resolution
  • AI auto scheduling: generates an optimized weekly schedule based on availability, qualifications, coverage rules, and time-off requests
  • API access: integrate Connecteam with any external system programmatically
  • Up to 12 schedules and 6 time clocks (Operations Hub)
  • Unlimited geo-fence sites (Operations Hub)
  • Up to 3 automated report deliveries per week
  • AI agent in chat: employees ask questions, get answers from knowledge base (Communications Hub)
  • In-chat AI translation and auto-translation of feed updates (Communications Hub)
  • 10GB knowledge base storage (Communications Hub)
  • Up to 12 help desks (Communications Hub)
  • Unlimited time-off policies with balance (HR Hub)
  • Up to 10 e-sign documents (HR Hub)
  • Up to 12 onboarding packs (HR Hub)

Works for

  • Security, logistics, and delivery companies that need to verify employee location throughout a shift
  • Hospitality and healthcare operations where scheduling complexity justifies AI assistance
  • Businesses with a developer or integration team that want to connect Connecteam to existing systems via API

Watch out for

  • Expert is where the price of a full three-hub stack starts to feel meaningful: 3 × $99 = $297/month for the first 30 users alone, plus per-user fees above 30
  • Automated reports are limited to 3 per account — unlimited requires Enterprise
  • SSO, 2FA, and biometric app lock remain Enterprise-only even at Expert

Enterprise — Custom Pricing

Enterprise is designed for organizations with 201 to 10,000 employees. It adds unlimited time clocks, schedules, and geo-fence sites across all hubs, plus SSO, 2FA, biometric app lock, a dedicated customer success manager, and an activity analytics dashboard not available on any other tier.

  • Contact Connecteam sales for pricing — not published
  • Annual billing only (no monthly option)
  • Includes HIPAA compliance at an additional fee
  • Custom SLA and onboarding

What a Full Connecteam Stack Actually Costs

Because pricing depends on hub count, plan tier, and team size, the cost varies widely. The following scenarios show real monthly and annual numbers for common configurations. All figures use annual billing.

Scenario A: 10-person team, all 3 hubs

Connecteam actiTIME
Plan Small Business (free) Paid $6/user/month
Monthly cost $0 $60/month
Annual cost $0 $720/year
Features available All 3 hubs, nearly all features Time tracking, project billing, invoicing
What’s missing Payroll integrations GPS, comms, HR

For a small field-based team under 10, Connecteam’s free plan is hard to beat. actiTIME’s 3-user free plan does not scale to 10 users without cost.

Scenario B: 30-person team, Operations + Communications hubs, Basic

Connecteam (2 hubs) actiTIME
Monthly cost (annual billing) 2 × $29 = $58/month $180/month
Annual cost $696/year $2,160/year
Includes team communication Yes No
Includes project billing/invoicing No Yes
Includes GPS time clock Yes (no breadcrumbs at Basic) No

For a 30-person team needing scheduling and time tracking with communications, Connecteam at Basic comes in at $696/year — significantly under actiTIME. But actiTIME includes project billing, invoicing, and billing rates by work type that Connecteam does not offer at any tier.

Scenario C: 50-person team, all 3 hubs, Expert

Connecteam (3 hubs) actiTIME
Total monthly (annual billing) $501/month $250/month
Total annual $6,012/year $3,000/year
GPS breadcrumbs Yes No
AI auto scheduling Yes No
Project billing/invoicing No Yes
Self-hosted option No Yes — $120/user one-time

At 50 users on Expert, the full Connecteam stack costs $6,012/year vs. $3,000/year for actiTIME — but the two tools cover different ground. actiTIME does not replace Connecteam’s scheduling, GPS verification, communications, or employee training. These are different products for different team types.

Self-hosted note: actiTIME offers a perpetual self-hosted license at $120/user one-time. For a team of 50, that is $6,000 total — paid once, with no recurring subscription. At Connecteam’s Expert rate of $501/month, the actiTIME self-hosted license pays for itself in under 12 months relative to a comparable SaaS spend.

Where Connecteam Wins on Price-to-Value

1. Free plan coverage for small teams

Connecteam’s free plan covers up to 10 users with all three hubs — scheduling, time clock, communications, and HR — at no cost. actiTIME’s free plan covers 3 users with core time tracking only. For a small frontline business that would otherwise be managing on WhatsApp and paper, Connecteam’s free tier delivers immediate, tangible value.

2. All-in-one cost vs. multiple tools

Teams replacing separate scheduling software, a group chat tool, and an HR system with Connecteam can consolidate costs. The Operations + Communications hubs at Basic for a 30-person team cost $696/year — less than many standalone scheduling apps alone. The comparison is not just actiTIME vs. Connecteam; it is often Connecteam vs. three separate subscriptions.

3. POS labor-to-sales integration

For restaurants, retail, and hospitality businesses, Connecteam’s integrations with Square, Shopify POS, Clover, and Lightspeed let managers see live labor costs against sales data inside the scheduling view. actiTIME does not have POS integrations. This is a category-specific value driver that has no direct alternative in actiTIME.

4. GPS breadcrumbs and kiosk clock-in

Continuous GPS location tracking during a shift (Expert tier) and selfie-verified kiosk clock-in are features that directly reduce time theft and payroll disputes in field-based operations. actiTIME has no GPS capability.

Where actiTIME Wins on Price-to-Value

1. Project billing and invoicing at every paid tier

Connecteam does not have project billing rates, profitability tracking, or invoicing at any tier. For agencies, consultancies, law firms, or any team that bills clients by hours and work type, actiTIME covers the entire workflow from tracked hours to issued invoice. Connecteam cannot replicate this regardless of which hubs you subscribe to.

2. Simpler, predictable pricing

actiTIME charges one rate: from $5 per user per month (annual billing), with a $1,250/month flat rate for unlimited users. There are no add-ons, no hub multipliers, and no per-user rates that change by tier or hub. For finance teams or anyone building annual software budgets, the cost is predictable from day one.

3. Self-hosted perpetual license

actiTIME’s self-hosted license ($120 per user, one-time) eliminates recurring subscription costs and keeps all data on your own servers. Connecteam is cloud-only with no self-hosted option. For organizations with data sovereignty requirements — legal, government, healthcare — this is often a deciding factor.

4. No feature gating between hubs

actiTIME’s paid plan includes project tracking, task management, billing rates, timesheet approvals, and reporting in a single subscription. Connecteam gates meaningful features across hub tiers (GPS breadcrumbs behind Expert, time off behind HR Hub, API behind Expert). Teams that want the full actiTIME feature set at $5/user do not need to calculate which hubs to add.

5. Longer free trial

actiTIME’s free trial runs 30 days; Connecteam’s is 14 days. For complex implementations involving payroll integration, onboarding, and schedule setup, 30 days gives teams more time to validate the product before committing.

Which Platform Is Right for Your Team?

Choose Connecteam if… Choose actiTIME if…
Your team is mobile, deskless, or spread across job sites Your team tracks hours against projects and bills clients
You need GPS clock-in, geofencing, or kiosk verification You need billing rates by work type and invoice generation
You need scheduling and time tracking in one app You need a single, predictable per-user subscription
You need communications, training, and HR in the same tool You want a 30-day trial before committing
Your team is 10 or fewer people and you want a free plan You want a self-hosted perpetual license with no recurring fees
You use Square, Shopify, Clover, or Lightspeed POS You run a professional services, agency, or consulting team
You manage construction, hospitality, retail, or field service You need project-level cost tracking and profitability reporting

The two tools are not direct substitutes. Connecteam is built for the operational management of deskless teams — where they are, when they work, and how they communicate. actiTIME is built for the financial management of project work — tracking time against clients, controlling costs, and billing accurately.

If your main question is “where are my people and are they clocking in correctly,” Connecteam answers it. If your main question is “are we billing enough hours to cover our project costs,” actiTIME answers it.
